2009 -2010 5th Grade Georgia CRCT Results

The Georgia Criterion Referenced Test measures the extent to which students meet or exceed the state academic standards. Tests are administered in all five academic areas. This year our students outperformed the state in the areas of social studies, reading and language arts. Math will be an area of focus this coming school year as we continue to work with these students to develop their skills.

2009-2010 6th Grade Georgia CRCT Results

The sixth grade scholars significantly outperformed the state and district averages in all content areas. Following comparatively lower performance on the 6th grade science CRCT in past years, the 6th grade schedule was adjusted last year to provide twice as much time for science and social studies. As a result, KIPP WAYS Academy scholars have outperformed the state average in 6th grade science and social studies for the second year in a row.

2009-2010 7th Grade Georgia CRCT Results

The Class of 2015 scholars did very well on the Georgia CRCT, significantly outperforming the state in every single subject. Last year's class posted similar results. The science and social studies scores improved significantly due to the increased instructional time in those academic areas. This is the first time in the school's history that all give content areas had 90% or higher passing rate since the rollout of the Georgia Performance Standards.

The 8th grade scholars outperformed the state averages in all five subject areas. Science and social studies scores increased more than ten percentage points. The reading, language arts and math scores remained consistently high again this year. Overall the class of 2014 performed well with the Georgia Performance Standards.

2009-2010 5th Grade ITBS Results

Analyzing students' rate of growth allows us to measure the effect KIPP WAYS Academy has had on our students. Results of norm-referenced tests are reported in National Percentile Rankings, which indicate the % of students around the nation that our average student outscored. Fifth grade students at KIPP WAYS Academy have shown significant growth in Language Arts since entering the school. At the beginning of their 5th grade year, the average fifth grader at KIPP WAYS Academy was outperforming 39% of fifth graders around the country in language arts. By the end of their fifth grade year, the average student was outperforming 39%. This represents 20 percentile points of growth in one year in language arts. Students scores took a slight dip in Reading and Math.

2009-2010 6th Grade ITBS Results

Sixth grade students at KIPP WAYS Academy have grown language arts and math since entering the school. However they had a slight dip from their 5th to 6th grade year.

2009-2010 7th Grade ITBS Results

Since entering KIPP WAYS Academy, the Class of 2015 has grown 8 percentile points in reading. They have grown in the areas of language arts and math, however they made a slight dip in both areas.

The Class of 2014 has made dramatic gains since entering the school four years ago. They have grown 10 percentile points in reading, 20 percentile points in language arts, and 17 percentile points in math.

Students at KIPP WAYS Academy significantly outperformed the State of Georgia and APS pass on the 5th Grade Writing Test.
